The game prompt:
"Five friends went to a Halloween Costume Party. Each person wore a costume, and each person brought snacks for the party.
The rule of this costume party is: Every person must wear a different costume and bring a different snack.
Who wore which costume and brought which snacks?"
Directions:
I gave it to the students and let them try the puzzle by themselves or with a partner. Depending on the English level of the class, I'll review the first clue and do it on the board for them. (I draw the puzzle on the board using shorthand and then go through the first clue.) Or, I'll review each clue one by one by letting them check the meaning in pairs and then check their understanding by calling on a student to tell me the meaning in Japanese. While they worked on the puzzle, I also played Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music video on the projector/TV. They get a kick out of it lol I also gave candy to the first 5 students who successfully completed the puzzle.
