Use a challenging (but doable) sequence memory game to get students to practice speaking the shape words.
Focus on 2 shapes at a time to focus on proper pronunciation of each shape.
Easy Option (first slides of the file): 2 shapes at a time
Advanced Option (last 12 slides): 3 shapes at a time
ALT/HRT:
1. For every slide, review the pronunciation of the English words.
2. Show the sequence of shapes for 3 seconds only.
3. Go back to the previous blank slide and check students' answer.
Students:
1. Practice the pronunciation of the English words.
2. Memorize the sequence of shapes for 3 seconds.
3. Say the English words in correct sequence, in unison.
*You can adjust the number of seconds based on difficulty - if it is too hard, you can increase it to 5seconds or more.
*The shapes also have a different color theme per slide, which you can review/ask the students to identify.
Just in time for my 2nd grade shapes lesson! Seems very adaptable. Looking forward to using it.
