Where's Anpanman?

An activity to practice the names of locations using "in."

I made this for my special needs students. They had just learned prepositions, so this was a chance to reveiw "in" while teaching them some location names.

The grammar and location parts are pretty straightforward and go until the first "Good job!" slide. After that is the start of a game I call "Fast Touch" because it's simple enough that students and teachers who don't have much English can figure it out quickly.

To start, use the last two slide to make cards. One for however many groups you play games with. I suggest 2-4. Make sure the cards are face up. Show one of the slides in the second section and say, "Where is Anpanman?" Students need to find the matching card, hold it up, and say, "Anpanman is in the _____." If you're doing this with special needs students, who might want to avoid proclaiming the students with the most cards the winners. My SN teachers have generally asked I not declaire winners and losers in games and I get where they're coming from. Use your own best judgement.

Note: I used the locations on pg. 149 of "Here We Go 1", but this lesson should work no matter what book you use.
