My JTE for JHS 1年 asked me to make a PowerPoint about South African customs that might differ from Japan.
I thought I would share it here for anyone taking the initiative in their schools to share other cultures, or you are from SA and want some ideas. If you are from SA, and you experienced different things, please let me know as it is based off of my personal experiences.
There are about 4 or 5 videos included in the PowerPoint.
*If it is being presented, it took me almost an entire lesson because of JP-ENG translation and the kids laughing at the videos (I told them not to laugh at our anthem in front of other South Africans - especially at a rugby match - because they will get punched).
*This can be used to help a homogenous group to see how countries that are not homogenous coexist.
EDIT: Here is a Google Drive link to the PowerPoint - https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/13LIX1Q2o04LmMTIm_RqW5HBYdi07hycg/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=110231147979467761856&rtpof=true&sd=true
Monica, just a girl from Limpopo here! ;) I've been checking all your activities since you started posting. And I really admire your creativity and endless ideas. Thanks for sharing! (Kinda wish we could be friends. Haha)
@Lena_the_Legend Howzit! I'm glad you like the ideas and I hope they help you in journey in Japan too! I'm just starting out so it would be cool to be friends with more South Africans in Japan! Too bad ALTopedia doesn't have a chat function :)
