Say What? Halloween Say 20 Game

A spooky variation of Say 20 in which students take turns reading English, trying not to be the one to say the final word.

Instructions:
Group students in groups of 3-4. Pass out a copy of the vampire story to each student. Have students janken to decide who goes first.

When it is their turn, a student can choose to say one, two, or three consecutive words from the story.

The goal is to NOT be the one to say the final word.

Whoever says the last word, 'me', is the loser (and vampire food :0 ).

I did this with my 3rd years at JHS, and they had a blast. After each group finished, I asked all of the vampire food (the losers) to raise their hands. Then I had all the losers play against each other to determine the final loser.

They enjoyed the drama of it, and the activity itself was a good way to get them speaking and thinking about the meanings of the words.

I included pictures for meaning and katakana for pronunciation help to anyone who needed it.

The document is arranged so that you can print it on an A4 sized paper and cut it into four parts. All about reducing waste. ✌️
