Presentation taken from Tay's Teaching Toolkit.
Each student reads the example on screen, one by one, before time runs out and Billy is struck by lightning. If they are reading and lightning strikes, they are out. If it is very close and you can't tell if they are safe or not, janken saves the day. I don't mind if they can't pronounce it perfectly as it is a race against time more than anything, but they do need to use the correct grammar.
I use the first sentence as an example, so they understand how to play and after the first few sentences it gets a bit harder and follows the same structure as the questions in the book. So, they're not necessarily just reading.
Please feel free to adjust the sentences to the level of your class.
I have hidden the last few slides just because I ran out of ideas and the game can go on forever.
I have also used this for Let's Try 2, so it's very versatile.
Thank you.......It was a fun group activity
