Asking for Directions (Subway)

A series of lessons covering how to give directions for the subway, and train-related vocabulary. It finishes with a speaking test.

This is my first lesson, I had a bit of help from my teacher but it is far from flawless. I feel it is worth sharing because it can be completed by low-level SHS students and uses critical thinking, and essential vocabulary. They will use it when abroad travelling, or helping foreigners here. Even heard a story recently from a student who actually used it and helped a foreigner use the subway! If you have any advice on how to improve it, please please let me know!

Lesson One: Vocab Sheet with Powerpoint
Eliciting Vocab, repeat after me, practice in pairs, etc. It is the most boring part of the series of the lessons, and I feel it is the place where I would welcome the most feedback. But I feel the key phrases are perfect.

Lesson Two: Worksheet Practice and speaking practice
Students use the given worksheet to gauge understanding of the key words, and how to use a map. They then are shown full examples of "How do I get from A Station to B station? After that, they practice in pairs and the best students can show the examples with some assistance

Lesson Three: Practice with Speaking Test map
This was done with the JTE's, without me, but it is like the second half of lesson two but with an actual subway map. This is essential, as the more practice they get, the better they will remember

Lesson Four: Speaking Test
After some quick tips and 5 minutes practice by themselves, the test starts. One by one, students come out to the hall to take the test with me. The question is always very similar: a trip with one change, e.g Muromi to Yakuin. I have done the tests in smaller classes of 22 max students, but it can be done differently if you discuss with your teacher.

I feel this is suitable for JHS and SHS, and the vocab can be adjusted to be made more difficult if needs be, or you can use another more complex map. I used the Fukuoka map as my students are familiar with it and it is simple.
