This activity was taken from the Trick or Treat Quiz game done by mssamansa, so the description of how to play will be basically a repost of what they posted but edited to fit the christmas season
when clicking on the questions, please click on the numbers and not the Santa hat portion. some questions have glitched out, and will not load the question, and just make the number and Santa hat disappear.
ACTIVITY
This is a simple powerpoint based Christmas quiz game. Most questions are general review (taken from the 3nen review) with some bonus Christmas questions.
PREP:
Connect your computer/tablet to your classroom display; use the blackboard to track team points.
HOW TO PLAY:
Divide students into groups, you can decide group order, or allow them a roll the dice (spin a wheel, draw sticks etc.)
Teams take turns choosing a number from the home screen.
You can time the questions (30 seconds is recommended) to add a sense of urgency.
If they get the question right, they earn points.
HOWEVER--some questions lead to a "Naughty or Nice" option. On this screen the students can decide if they want a "nice" (2 points) or a "naughty" (challenge question or minigame worth 4+ points).
There are roughly 10 naughty or nice options hidden throughout the game. Half of these lead to challenge questions, which are all multiple choice Christmas trivia. The other half lead to minigames which are as follows:
Krampus Attack: all teams return to zero
Black Santa: play janken with another team, winner steals 3 points
Christmas Cake: +6 points
These encounters are kept secret for the kids, but feel free to tell them.
POWERPOINT INSTRUCTIONS:
