This game is based off a popular Japanese game show where contestants guess the seasonal foods of Japan. In the game show, they find out the answers by drinking something, if it's bitter then they guessed wrong.

After dividing the class into groups, using the image in the attachment, roll a dice and one team chooses the first topic. It can be a fruit, vegetable or fish.

The ALT reads the question and the teams listen. They have 15-25 seconds to make a decision then say the names of each season. For example, if the team thinks it's 'spring', they raise their hands. All teams that guessed right receive 10 points.

Start this activity by asking the warm-up questions (located in attachment).

I used to use this activity a lot many years ago and loved it but I find it doesn't go so well anymore. The kids used to be more confident guessing the answers but since the Quiz Show is long gone they aren't as certain any more.
