This presentation focuses on School Life in the UK.
Students study about school life in the USA, this shows another school system very different to Japan's.
Students learn about the system in a simple format.
At the end, there is a slightly outdated video, but certain points can be applied and the level of English used is perfect for first graders too.

Interesting PP! I was surprised too see such a difference between this and my school life in NZ.
Thank you! I think that it is interesting to show the students what our school lives might've been like! Wondering about NZ now...
Your culture presentations are always amazing. And it's cool that you can show that English isn't the same around the world, like "maths" instead of "math", for example. It's good for them to know!
Thank you! I think it's just interesting how English is different all around the world! The students do, too! :)
Nachonaz, I have another question. I noticed this in the PowerPoint. Is it common in the UK to use periods when telling time instead of colons? (8.30 compared to 8:30) I didn't know that! Also, thanks again for this PowerPoint. I gave a presentation to my students last year about school life in the US, but my JTE wants me to give another presentation about school life, so I'm going to show my students this.
No usually we would use 8:30 with a colon rather than a full stop.
Yes, usually with a colon!!
My school had high school in its name. Most did in the area. I think high school is quite common to say in the north.
I was surprised to see how much things had changed in British schools. Rather different in my time.
Hi would mind uploading tthis to google slides and sharing the link?
