What ~ do you like? Powerpoint Quiz Game

3 hint Guess Who Quiz for Let's try 1 Unit 5

Just another way to practice and enforce what they learned at the end of Let's Try 1 Unit 5.

Teachers requested some katakana pronunciation on this one to make it easier for the students to follow along. So each hint slide has the pronunciation written above the English.

We just had the class as a whole play this one, no splitting into groups.

The beginning starts with some practice and review of the question and answer pattern.
"What ~ do you like?" "I like ~"

There are 5 different characters for them to guess. Each hint has a question and an answer. I had them all read the question to me for each hint - like "What food do you like?" and then I would answer "I like ~". After the 3 hints, we asked around to see what different answers there were - after a few answers we showed the "It's ~ !" and moved onto the next 3 hints. Rinse and repeat.

Each character has 3 hints of varying things - sports, fruits, animals, food, drink, and colors. Some words they know, others they don't, but I tried to make it easy to understand with pictures/gifs.

Included characters - Mario, Doraemon, Snoopy, Tanjiro, Snorlax.

Please feel free to change it up to your needs :)

** after the question/answer practice slide are just the blank question slides that you can copy and paste to make your own additional 3 hints if you want. They are hidden so when you play the presentation they won't show :)

This looks great, I might try this with my new 5th Years! Fair warning, Snorlax is called カビゴン (Kabigon) in Japan.

Thanks! You saved me during an ideas-block for this unit! I made a Google-slides version very similar to the one above. If anyone wants to copy and modify that version I'll post it here.

      Have a good one!

I enjoy this power point very much, but I think its better to strip out the Katakana cause the kids end up just relying on the Katakana which hurts their word recognition and pronunciation in the long run

I've opted for including some picture prompts over the changing words rather than using the katakana e.g. food, colour etc. My classes have really enjoyed this so far and after stumbling through the first character, they catch on very quickly by the second. Thanks so much for the game!
Also the point about snorlax's Japanese name is very pertinent!
