They throw a lot of vocab at the kids in the unit and since they get restless, I whipped this up.
It's a mash up of various subject and job vocab from the picture dictionary.
The way I've played it is by splitting the class into groups. I wouldn't put more than 4 in a group because then they tend not to all participate. Each group gets to choose a word and they all must say the right sentence to the word they chose.
EX: Group A chose 'math'. They must all say 'I want to study math.'
Usually a hearty Seeeeei no~ will get them all geared up. Then once they say it open the box and see what points they get. Keep track of the points on the board. Then move onto group B etc etc.
I have noticed that some kids will take way too much time deciding on what word to chose, so it might be best to make a time limit for them to chose and say their sentences.
It's just a light fun way to review what they are learning outside of the usual textbook stuff.
Change anything to meet your needs!
Thank you. I was just asked for something to review this grammar and this is perfect.
Excellent! I hope it works out well for you!
Good activity, but for elementary school, I would use pictures instead of just text.
I used this activity and my students loved it! I drew points cards, attached them to the back of the NH vocab cards and stuck them on the blackboard. I would recommend adding photos to the slideshow if possible.
