Preparation:
- TV to present PPT
- Print worksheets
- [OPTIONAL] Dictionaries for kids to use
The PPT contains:
- Two Haiku examples (one that follows the haiku syllable rule and one that doesn't)
- Topics and keywords for the students to get some ideas
- Extra notes are provided in the NOTES section
Worksheet:
- I made 4 different haiku designs for kids to choose from (or handed out randomly)
- The top half of the worksheet includes a draft where students write their Haiku
- The bottom half is where they write the final version of their Haiku.
Things to Note:
- If possible, please demonstrate on how to brainstorm on the blackboard (they don't have to brainstorm in English).
- Check to see if the students' dictionaries have words broken up into syllables (see slide 3). Explain to the students how it works.
