Hello! So the goal of this activity was to get my students to practice asking "Do you like _______?" and answering either "Yes, I do." or "No, I don't."
I started off with a quick warmup where I wrote "Do you like _______?" / "Yes, I do." or "No, I don't." on the board and had a few practice rounds with the students. (Do you like strawberry? / Do you like cats? / Do you like soccer?)
I then played the powerpoint and had the students go to one side of the classroom if they thought the correct answer was 'Yes I do' and another side of the classroom if they thought the answer was 'No I dont'. I'd then reveal the answer and start the next round.
Then, I had the students practice interviewing each other for about 7 minutes. I cut out all of the food squares and handed one out to each student along with an interview sheet. The students would glue their food onto the interview sheet and then they'd go around and take turns asking their classmates "Do you like (food)?". After they answered, they'd take turns signing each others paper either in the "Yes, I do" box or the "No, I don't" box.
The students would try to get as many signatures as they could from their classmates!
This is nice! I think I will try this out with my special needs students today!
