Reverse Key Word Game (Vocabulary Game) any grade.

It's a veeeeeeeery fun game to help students to practice asking a specific question.

In the classic "Key Word" game, the students only repeat the vocabulary. Ex; Sports.
Let's suppose that the key word is "baseball"?
Every pair has "one" eraser between them.
Then they reapeat after the ALT.
ALT says: Soccer, clap, clap, Students say: Soccer, clap, clap.
ALT says: Volleyball, clap, clap, Students say: Volleyball, clap, clap.
ALT says: Tennis, clap, clap, Students say: Tennis, clap, clap.
ALT says: Baseball! Students try to catch the eraser. The ones who catch the eraser are the winners.

How to play the "Reverse Key Word game".
Reverse key word is similar to that, but instead of vocabulary they will use a sentence instead: For example;
Can you play~? The students can only try to catch the eraser if the ALT says "YES".
HRT points at a soccer flashcard. Students ask; Can you play soccer? ALT says; NO, I CAN'T. (no need to clap)
HRT points at a tennis flashcard. Students ask; Can you play tennis? ALT says; NO, I CAN'T.
HRT points at a baseball flashcard. Students ask; Can you play baseball? ALT says; NO, I CAN'T.
HRT points at a table tennis flashcard. Students ask; Can you play table tennis? ALT says; YES, I CAN.
Students try to catch the eraser. The ones who catch the eraser are the winners.

You can either play, round 2, round 3 and so forth, or you could do the change seats thing. The winners continue seated at the same place but the losers have to stand up and move to another empty seat and play against a different friend.

Variations; (endless) but here are some suggestions.
Can you play soccer? No, I can't. Yes, I can.
Do you like soccer? No, I don't. Yes, I do.
Are you good at soccer? No, I'm not. Yes, I am.
Did you play soccer? No, I didn't. Yes, I did. etc...

Any Yes or No questions will work in this game.

This always works well in class! How I do this is 'Which do you like?' I have made two pictures flash cards like mountain or sea and it will go, which do you like, mountain or sea? clap clap, answer me, clap clap, 'I like sea.' If they answer the same then they win, then change the groups. It will help them memorize two words at the same time. Thank you so much for sharing!

@nisaa1234. Oh you gave me an idea. Your game can be mixed with the keyword game. The students pair up with one eraser on the desk. The ALT asks “which do you like?” then they have to answer at the same time. If they give the same answers, they catch the eraser. If not, they dont catch the eraser.
