This is a short activity you can use to review the emotions vocabulary after you've introduced them. Cat memes are really popular among kids right now, so they'll probably already know what emotion each cat is supposed to represent. This activity aims to help them practice and memorize the English vocabulary for those emotions.
- A blurry silhouette of a cat meme will show on the screen. The teacher will ask the students, "How are you?"
- Give the students 10-20 seconds to think and discuss with their partners what emotion they think the cat is feeling.
- Once again, the teacher will ask, "How are you?"
- The students will reply, "I'm (sad, hungry, happy, sleepy, etc.)".
- The teacher will reveal the answer.
There are seven cats. The fifth cat can be "good", "great", or "fine". If you use the Canva link below, there are sound effects that play along with the slide transitions.
