Print out the photos in the presentation - and cut them out behind every picture write the name in English of character or famous person and the katakana pronunciation and write birthday (prefereably - for e.g. for July 17th - 7/17).
Students will use the following conversation- (this is just an outline on how you can use it.)
A- Hello!
B- Hello!
A- Whats your name?
m ~. What
B- Is your name? (/and yours)
m ~.
A- I
B- When is your birthday?
A- My birthday is ~. When is your birthday?
B- My birthday is ~.
A- See you
"""""Please check in the notes section below each slide I have added names and most of their birthdays for few I haven`t added birthdays please check on google by using the given names""""""""""
Don`t forget to laminate the flashcards or by the end it will be crumbled.
The activity was a hit and I`ve used it in multiple classes.
I usually give the students 7 minutes. They go around the class asking eachother birth dates.
It is important that after every conversation they keep on exchanging flashcards for the 7 minutes duration and have as many conversations as possible as the purpose of this activity is for them to get acquinted in using different months and dates apart from their birthdays.
Awesome idea! It would be helpful if you could at least write in the slide notes the names of each person/character so it makes googling a little easier. I'll give this a try this week. Thanks!
I don`t know many of these famous characters, instead of letting everyone searching for the content every single time, a copy-paste with the names and dates would be super very much appreciate.
Hello! I have edited the presentation please download it again. In the notes section I have mentioned names and most of their birthdays.
Hi Yana, I like it, however, there is none in the notes section. Anyway, thank you still.
