Objective:
Students practice asking and answering 'What time do you OO?' questions.
Then compare their answers and discover who is lying!
Set up:
Print an even mix of each worksheet for your class size. For example: my class is 26 students, I printed 7 of each worksheet, then 2 'Emma1', 3 'Emma2' and 2 'Emma3'. I then mixed all the worksheets together before class, so they are randomly distributed to the students.
I also used flashcards to practice the activities and questions/answer format as a warm up before the activity.
The [ALL CHARACTERS.docx] file, is just a reference for you and the JTE.
Method:
Show the PPT to set up the rules.
Hand out the worksheets, tell the students they are one of the 4 students.
Demonstrate the conversation at the bottom of the worksheet with your JTE.
Interview time! They have to interview the 3 other students.
When finished, put them into small groups, or just have them talk to the sudents around them. They should compare their answers, and see if they can spot the student who is lying. The liar is 'Emma' - on one worksheet she says her name is Hannah, on another she says she is from America, and her daily routine is different on every worksheet.
Hopefully they can spot the liar. Get the students to vote on the PPT and reveal the liar!
This activity is inspired by ['What time do you ~~? Interview'] by MrMomotaro. I changed it to include the 'Who is lying?' element, to give the students a goal. And, I reduced it to 4 student characters, it would take my kids too long otherwise!
((For formatting, I use: 'Antique Olive Compact' or 'Segoe UI Black' for titles, and 'UD デジタル UK-R' for body text.))
((Be aware: I always put the month in the top corner of my worksheets, please check it is the correct month!))
Thanks for sharing. How could you edit the month at the top?
@PriscilaMurari I have uploaded a new PDF version without the month. Hope this helps!
I love the concept of this activity! Gonna give it a go with my students next week! Thank you so much again!
