I made this game on Canva for my students to have fun for Halloween and still review English. I was inspired by some other Jeopardy's I saw on ALTopedia! There are lots of categories that incorporates English grammar, as well as just fun questions.
I have pretty decently sized classes so I do groups of 4-5, which you can adjust accordingly. I have the groups pick their own teams, they sit together, and come up with a team name. Then, one person from each team will come to the front and play Janken to determine the order the groups go in. If you have mini whiteboards, you can give one to each team, otherwise they can use papers for the questions they have to write the answers for. JTE will help explain rules and keep score. I also suggest making a teacher copy of the game board so you can keep track of which categories have been picked, unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to make the numbers change color or disappear on Canva.

(If you want to adjust anything you'll have to make a copy)
How to Play:
1. There are 6 categories which each have 6 questions that get harder. The number of the question is also how many points they can get.
2. Groups will go in Janken order and pick their category and question. They have 30 seconds - 1 min to answer (depends on class length). If they get the question right move onto the point screen. If they do not get it right, any other group has a chance to steal the answer by raising their hands fastest. Can continue until the question is answered correctly or there are no groups left.
3. When a question is answered correctly, click on the pumpkin on the bottom of the slide when the answer appears, which will take you either to a Point slide or a Trick or Treat slide. If it is Trick or Treat, students will choose if they want a Trick (Random event that messes with points) or a Treat (Add 2 points). Click on the haunted house in the bottom right corner to return to the home screen.
4. Continue playing until class is over or they answer all the questions. If you have fewer students you can give candy to the winners. I wanted to but I have over 40 classes so it wouldn't be possible for me, but if you can do it yourself please do!
5. Click on the cat on the bottom middle of the game board to take you to the ending screen.
List of Tricks:
- Zombie Attack: All teams lose half points
- Vampire Fight: Team chooses another team to play Janken with, winner gets 3 points
- Witch Spell: Switch points with any team
- Werewolf Bite: Lose 2 points
My students really had fun and got competitive with each other, trying really hard to get everything correct. It was very entertaining to see how they reacted when points got messed with for the Tricks. Highly enjoyed it!
