OVERVIEW
In groups students answer questions about Christmas and Winter to get points!
This should be fun for JHS 1-3!
PREPARATION
All students need a copy of the worksheet!
PROCEDURE
1. Give all the students a worksheet and explain the points
- Wrong answer = 100 points
- Right answer = 200/300/400/500/mystery points!
2. I usually put them in 3-4 member groups.
3. In order, groups can take turns choosing questions.
- One group picks the question and then all groups have to write the answer on their worksheets.
4. You can click on the Answer sign to reveal the correct answer!
5. You can click on the point amount in the top left to return to the question slide! (For present slides, click on the present first to reveal the points!)
6. Then you can just repeat steps 3-5 for however much time you have!
GAME CATEGORIES
1. Questions: general questions related to Christmas/winter
2. Food: general questions related to Christmas food
3. Words + Pictures: word unscramble and writing what the pictures are in English
4. World: questions about many countries related to Christmas/winter

NOTES:
- For JHS 1nen they really enjoy this, for some questions JTE may need to help explain if they really aren't getting it --- I found they generally understood everything though
- I added my version with a short intro ppt about xmas in Canada!
- Definitely I'm posting this late for 2024 but I hope people can use this next year and further!
- You can set your own time limits per question, I usually do the multiple choice for around 15-30 seconds and the writing as long as it takes for most of them to have something written down (though not too too long)
- The difficulty is somewhat random
EDIT
- I've added smaller file sizes of the ppts!
FWIW reducing the picture quality to 96ppi reduced the PPTX files to around 9mb and 7mb.
@ChetBorneo thank you so much for letting me know! I've uploaded a ppt with the reduced image sizes :)
