Say the Word

A fun way to review lots of language points

I generally do this near the end of the year or sometimes near the end of terms as a fun review. The original worksheet was in our office folder for a long time. Not sure who the original creator was.
For a demonstration explain the students will work in groups or pairs and will try to get the teacher to say the words on the worksheet.
I make a four square grid on the board and put in four key words, such as 'pandas', 'Yes, she can', 'tennis' and 'made'. Then playing the role of a student in a group I question a teacher. I usually recruit a couple of students to help. For example I'll have one student gesture playing tennis while I ask 'What is he doing?'. Then explain it is okay to use gestures, draw pictures or bring things to the teacher to help get the answers.
Whenever they manage to get the ALT or JTE to say one of the words they should circle it (or the teacher circles it) and go back and think of another question. They can take turns coming up to ask questions. Also everyone in the group should circle the word once it is done.
After the demonstration I'll have the class make groups, hand out the worksheets and give them a time limit of about 20 minutes. At the end of that time we see how many circles they got.

NOTE: I had posted this before but I couldn't figure out how to change something in the post so I deleted it and reposted.
