After giving the handout to students, demonstrate how to play (step 3) with the JTE on the blackboard.
Explain to students that four crosses in a row make one bingo (XXXX) and four cicles in a row make one bingo (OOOO). However, a bingo line can not be a mix of crosses and circles (XXOO). Once a square is circled or crossed it can not be changed.
Students walk around, find a partner and question each other:
A: "Can I..?/Can you..?" (fill in the '...' using the language from a square on the handout)
students play Janken.
If A wins, B responds: "Sure." Then, A circles (O) the square used.
If A loses, B responds, "Sorry." Then, A crosses out (X) the square used.
A and B reverse roles, do the dialogue again, and then find new partners.
Can I play Janken?
Students try to get bingo by asking for favors/permission using `Can you/Can I...` questions.
