Poker game. print out the cards, cut them up. 9 per kid. write their names on the back.
Have them collect the ones they want from their friends by winning at janken and discard the one they don't want.
kids must keep 9 cards at all times, if they get one, they must give one as well.
start by having the kids choose one card to focus on. My best memory is the swimming meet. (for ex)
they walk around the class and try and get that card from their friends.
kids meet and greet.
A- Hi, my best memory is the swimming meet.
B- Hello, my best memory is the school trip.
janken, rock scissors paper 1,2,3
winner gets to choose any 1 card from their opponent and gives the loser any 1 card that they don't want.
always keep to 9 cards.
kids try to get as many of their favourite cards
TIME UP!!!!! return to your seats, check your cards. then check against the poker sheet. how many points did you get?
this game can get highly competitive, and some kids don't want to give a card over after they have lost. they might pretend to not have 1 particular one, so i recommend to show all the cards.
BONUS!!!!!
Ive also included a popular ranking sheet as well. 12 person interview. find out what your classmates think. what is their best memory of elementary school. with pie chart to colour in to see what percentage likes what.
after asking what their best memories are, kids colour in the star next to the school events. then when finished colour in the pie chart
Underrated activity. I'll update it for the Junior Sunshine textbook.
