This game is 100% based off of UonumaRobert's Battle for Japan game! The only differences are:
- I've added a small code to the PowerPoint that will keep score for you.
- You can hide the scores to do a big reveal at the end.
- You cannot accidentally clear the game board.
- Because I've added code to this PowerPoint, you must allow your computer to use it. It is a safety feature much like the "allow to edit" request. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, then please use the original game!
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- White boards, markers, and erasers for each group
- Copies of a list of questions for each group
DIRECTIONS
- Divide your class into groups.
- An even number of groups works best. (6 or 8 groups would mean two groups work together as a team under one color.)
- If you have an odd number (5+), you can allow the team of one group to choose two prefectures each time.
- Groups work together to answer questions from the question list on their white boards.
- For each answer, have one student from that group bring their white board and questions list to you.
- If they are correct, mark that question complete on the list and have them choose a prefecture.
- Once a team has chosen their first prefecture, they may only choose a neighboring prefecture after that. They can take prefectures from other teams by defeating them in janken.
- The game ends when the board is full or you can specify a time limit. The color with the most prefectures wins.
GAME PLAY
- You MUST click the play button on slide 2 or the New Game button on slide 3 before you start. (This initializes the variables in the code, so if nothing is working, try clicking New Game!!)
- Same as the original game, click the desired prefecture: 1 click = red, 2 = green, 3 = blue, 4 = purple, 5 = back to black.
- The Hide Score button hides all the scores.
- The Show button shows all the scores.
- Click on a hidden score to show only that score.
- Click on a visible score to go to that color's winning slide.
- When closing the PowerPoint after a game, it will ask if you want to save it. Just say no. If you save it, the colors in the map will be saved but the scores will not.
TECHNICAL TIPS
- If nothing is working, make sure that you "allowed" the code to work.
- Next try clicking New Game.
- After that try closing the PowerPoint and re-opening it.
- Lastly try restarting your computer (it really does help sometimes XD Updates are important, too!)
- The code may not be perfect, so if you are experiencing glitches, let me know what is happening and I will see if I can fix it!

Nice, worked well on my work computer.
Awesome!! I'm glad it worked. I'm a huge fan of your game! My kids all love it :D
Super awesome edit on a classic! My kids have always really enjoyed playing Battle for Japan, but I will admit I have misclicked in the past and messed up the whole game. I also love the automatic score counter!
The only draw back of this version is that I have no idea how to edit it to add more groups. I usually go with 6 groups as that's how many cleaning groups I typically have and that's usually how the students get divided up to save time. Could you direct me to someplace so that I could learn to edit the code? I've done some googling and I can't find anything that would seem useful in this case.
it didn't work at all on my computer ı was only able to view the first questions but thank you for sharing
I have been using UonumaRobert's version until now at my schools and the students love this game. Thank you Thank you for this edit 4sarah1212.
