Christmas Lesson (with some info about Jamaica)

This Christmas lesson covers the history, purpose and Christmas activities.

The PowerPoint includes the following information:

  1. Date
  2. The purpose of Christmas
  3. History of Christmas
  4. How is Christmas celebrated
  5. Jamaican Christmas (change to your home country)

At the end of the powerpoint, I placed students in groups of 4 or 5.
Each group shared one thing about Christmas in Japan. I gave them about 5 minutes to prepare.
For example: Foods, Activities, Places to visit

Write the target language on the board "In Japan, we ________________ for Christmas."
Some ideas they shared were: In Japan, we eat Kentucky for Christmas. In Japan we look at illuminations for Christmas.

Crossword Puzzle: based on what was learned in the PowerPoint.

You will have to create your own as information about Jamaica is included.

Write a Christmas card
At the back of the worksheet is a guide to help students write a Christmas card to their friend/family member.
I have attached the template I used for the Christmas Cards.
I allowed them to use colored pens and draw on it to make it more personalized.

Hi there. This looks very interesting but I can't access the powerpoint file as it's very big. Can you shrink the file to make it possible to open it please? I often use this site to shrink or convert files: https://smallpdf.com/compress-pdf. Thank you for taking the time to make this presentation.
