I adapted another translation challenge on here to suit my needs. This is a comprehensive year-end review designed for group work.
This is high difficulty. It is intended as a true challenge. I wanted the students to work together and think hard about how to translate each sentence.
I cut all of the Japanese sentences into strips and had each group of 3-4 students randomly select 3 of them. The groups have 10-20 minutes to work on their sentences and see what they can come up with. I had the answer sheet on hand so they could check with me or have a look after class.
The sentence about choosing schools is particularly difficult, so giving a hint or two for that one is okay.
I ran my Japanese translations past a JTE and got a thumbs-up, so they should be fine.
