Concentration Game
Materials: 2 different sets of cards (job picture cards and job vocab (word only) cards)
Class size: Better if no more than 25+ students in one room. (group activity)
Instructions:
- Make a group (~4-5 people)
- Decide on the order (do rock-paper-scissors. First to win goes first.)
- Have the cards upside down on the table, so they can’t see what the card is. Make sure it is shuffled well!
- Flip the card and find the match for it. (If you got a card that has/says teacher, then you'd wanna find the other card that also has/says teacher).
- If they find a match, say the target grammar: I want to be a~
*Make sure they are pronouncing it right! Some kids say "zoh-keeper" instead of "zookeeper" or they pronounce "be" as "べ"
- The same student can do it again until they fail to find a match.
- The student with the most matches wins! (optional: give a prize)
Attached below are: 1) instructions with pictures, 2) small flashcards with job pics, and 3) small flashcards with job names.
* For the flashcards, I suggest putting it on top of a colored paper so that the students will not be able to read the print when flipped.
This is my first contribution :> I thought I'd share because my students had a lot of fun!
