If I met...Crazy story

This is a writing and reading review activity I made for my JHS 3年生 using the target grammar in Sunishine 3. Lets students make a crazy story about meeting a famous person of their choice.

Students write the first word they can think of for every category and then use them to fill the blanks in the story creating thir own unique crazy story about meeting a famous person of their choice.

Part 1: writing
- Hand out worksheet 1.
- Tell the students to write a word for every number.

Part 2: listening, writing, reading, speaking
- Hand out worsheet 2.
- Tell the students to fill out the blanks in the story using the words the wrote in the previous worksheet.
- Check the students understanding. Using the ppt go through all the sentences to make sure the students understand the story.
*Note: I asked the students to give me some of the words they had written in Worksheet 1 to fill the blanks in the ppt.

Part 3: writing
- Hand out worksheet 3.
- Have the students re-write their story.
- Have the students translate their story into Japanese.

Part 4: reading, speaking, listening
- Break the class into groups
- In their group each students share their stories and they choose their favorite on.

Part 5: reading, speaking, listening
- Each group reads out the story they voted as their favorite. I didn't want the students to be too nervous so I had them do the reading in pairs.
- In their groups they janken and the 2 winners will have to read the story.
- They will read the English version and Japanese version sentence by sentence.
- One student reads the title in English, then the other reads the title in Japanese -> on student reads the 1st sentence in English, then the second student reads the 1st sentence in Japanese. And so on…
