Regular Past Simple KARUTA

This is a KARUTA game for New Horizons 1 Unit 10 p.103 - regular past simple verb ('-ed' ending)

Objective:
Listening practice for key verbs and changing them into the regular past simple.

Goal:
ALT to say a sentence with the present tense version of the verb.
Students must repeat it back with the correct past tense version and touch the correct verb card!

Set up:
Print and cut up KARUTA cards - there are 2 sets on each print out.
Make enough for 1 for each pair of students.
(You don't need to print them double sided for KARUTA, but if you ever want to use the cards for something else it's handy.)

Method:
Show the PPT.
Explain the rules with an example sentence on the board.
ie. ALT says: 'I play tennis.' -> students repeat: 'I played tennis.' and slap the correct verb card.
Use the PPT to check the answers after they say the sentence back to you.
There are 2 rounds.
First round I tried to make very simple / basic sentences.
Round 2, I tried to make slightly more difficult. Obviously you're welcome to adjust it to the level of your students.

((For formatting, I use: 'Antique Olive Compact' or 'Segoe UI Black' for titles, and 'UD デジタル UK-R' for body text.))
