This Powerpoint game was created for Elementary/1st year Junior high school students to practice/review pronouns as well as, "He/She is..." and "He/She likes..." sentence frames. This game might be too easy for 1st grade JHS students, but it might be a good review game.
There are 6 different popular characters in the PowerPoint. Each character has 2 slides. The first slide is the introduction slide, which has students select the proper pronoun of the character. If students choose incorrectly, a red X will appear over the incorrect choice and a sad gif/picture will appear to replace the character. If the students answer correctly, a happy picture/gif will appear in place of the original picture, and the sentence frame will also appear. You can have students practice the sentence frame out loud once they have guessed correctly. If you would like to show them both of the answers that's okay too! I recommend clicking on the wrong answer first, clicking back on your computer keyboard to reset the slide, and then clicking on the right answer. You can have the whole class play at the same time, or make it a team game with points.
The second slide of each character features a covered sentence frame as well as a hidden picture. Have the students guess what the character might like (hidden behind the colored shapes). To uncover a shape, have students ask for a, "Hint please." You can either give them a verbal hint, or have them choose a color they'd like to uncover. Click on any of the colored shapes to reveal a part of the hidden picture. Once students guess the right answer, you can choose to uncover all of the shapes, and also reveal the hidden word in the sentence frame. Have students repeat the sentence frame for practice.
It's not much, but I hope this activity will be useful! Please feel free to edit the template to add more characters, sentences, or anything else!
This is great. Can also use it in Eikaiwa.
Thank you, RosaSensei. This is fun. I will use it with my JHS Grade 1 students.
