Activity

Are you a girl/boy/student who~ Relative Pronouns

Use the BINGO cards to start a conversation with your classmates using the relative pronoun "who"

This activity is based on One World 3 Lesson 4: Sports Legends

  1. Distribute the BINGO cards (Part 1)
  2. Instruct students to use the target grammar points: "Are you a boy/girl/student who likes ~ing?" ** This can be modified to include sports/hobbies/ descriptions Response: Yes, I am / Sorry. No, I am not
  3. Have them practice writing their classmate's name in romaji if possible
  4. Give students 5 minutes to go around and ask each other the questions to fill in the box
  5. Round the students up again and ask for volunteers to share their BINGO answers

Example
ALT: Who is a girl who plays baseball?
Student: (can raise their hands or call them if they're shy) Saara is a girl who plays baseball!
** repeat this until you go over all the boxes in order for the students to practice speaking with you as well.

*** Additional challenge (Part 2) [might be an extra 5-10 minutes of writing]
- You may use this to further challenge your students to come up with their sentences and use the worksheet and BINGO card as a guide.
1. Instruct students to use their BINGO cards and complete the sentences in small groups (3-4) or with a partner.
2. Go around the class with your JTE to check if they understood the instruction or assist them.
3. Ask them to read the sentences to each other.
4. If time permits, ask for volunteers to share.
