Trick or Treat Review Game

Halloween power point review game in which students go door to door to answer textbook based questions and receive a trick or a treat! This game was inspired by JoshJ's sushi scramble review game.

This is a Halloween themed power point review game to answer textbook based questions. In this game, students go door to door to trick or treat and receive points, lose points, or steal points from other teams. This game is meant to be played in teams of students. These versions of the game were created to review Lessons 2-4 of New Crown 1, Lessons 2-4 of New Crown 2, and pgs. 56-71 of the New Crown 3 textbooks. However, please feel free to change up the text boxes to fit your own material (especially the parts where there is a teacher's name included). I didn't have much time to make a longer version, so once I have time, I will create one and upload it to this post. This game was heavily inspired by JoshJ's sushi scramble game, but I added a few extra elements. I recommend to play with your volume up as there are a few sounds included to make the game more fun!

Instructions:
Have students make groups of 4-6, and give each either a whiteboard and marker or a paper and pencil so they can answer the questions. Decide the order of the groups, and have them all take turns choosing a question when it's their turn. The group that chooses the question, will receive the main points awarded at the end, however, all teams must answer each question. Teams that get the correct answer but aren't the main group, will receive 2 points. ( I like to give students bonus points for creative answers and for additional writing. For example if a question only asks, 'What is this character's name?' but the students give me more details/sentences about the character, I'll give them a few extra points. The kids also love getting super creative to make me laugh so I award them extra points for that too. But this is just what has worked for me, so please feel free to do anything you'd like!)

To go to a question screen, click on any of the houses in the main menu page. Once students have finished answering a question, click anywhere on the slide to reveal the purple answer textbox. To play the trick or treat animation (to reveal the points) simply click 2 times anywhere on the slide. (I like to have them yell, "Trick or Treat," as a group, and if they say the phrase in an excited manner, I give them an extra point.) Once students have received their points, click on the red X button on the top left of your screen to return to the level menu screen.

On the slides where students get a lucky spin, click anywhere on the slide to go to the lucky spinner. You can only spin the spinner once, so make sure to be careful when clicking it to start and to stop. Once students have received their points, simply click on the red X button on the top left of your screen.

When you have answered all 14 questions, simply click on the red X at the top left on the level menu screen.

Feel free to play this game with your students however you'd like! I didn't have much time to make this game, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes. Any feedback is always appreciated! Have fun!
