The PowerPoint includes information on the following:
- Date
- Purpose
- History
- What people do today
- Jamaican Thanksgiving (you can include how thanksgiving is celebrated in your home country)
At the end of the PowerPoint is a quiz section. You can take about rougly 10 minutes to do this.
Students are to create groups of 4 or 5 and come up with group names related to Thanksgiving eg. Turkey eaters
After each question, the first group to raise their hand and answer correctly will win points.
The Worksheet
Activity 1: Students will use the words in the word box and fill in the blank lines.
Activity 2: Students will write about 2 things they are thankful for.

Just a note...in Canada,Thanksgiving is on the second Monday in October and is related to the European harvest festivals and traditions of the early settlers.

Just a note to those who want to use this ppt, Thanksgiving falls on the 4th Thursday in America, not the last. It is the 23rd this year.
