Have students divide into 6 groups. Give each group a set of cards that makes a sentence. Each card is one word.
Students must work together to form a correct sentence, but there's a twist. Each set will have 1-3 words that will not be used, and some sets will have multiple correct answers (this varies on how well your students understand/how much you want to challenge them).
When they're finished, students raise their hands and have a teacher check. Once everyone is correct, students go counterclockwise and move onto the next group until they're back to their original seats.
Here's what I made for each card:
We / are / singing / a song (extra: am, She)
Meg and / Kaito / are / studying / English (extra: is) (OR: Kaito is studying English)
Is / she / eating / lunch / ? (extra: are, am)
Are / they / doing / kendo / ? (extra: is, he)
I / am / not / playing / the / guitar (extra: He, are) (OR: I am playing the guitar)
He / is / riding / a bike (extra: We, am, ?)
I felt that the exercise adequately tested students' ability to not only form key sentences, but to also recognize the use of capital letters and when a question mark or period is appropriate. Please use at your own pace and students' abilities!
Note: It also helped that we reviewed before, so I will attach the Powerpoint I made as well.
