Did you _____ yesterday? (NH1 Past Simple)

Just a simple worksheet that practices the interrogative sentence asking about past events.

THINGS NEEDED: Worksheet (printed on A3 paper in landscape or two A4 papers in portrait)

The aim of the worksheet is to get students up and moving to compete the slots in the table. On the first side of the worksheet, there are 16 boxes so they will have to ask at least that many students in order to complete the worksheet. They will go around the class asking the questions and depending on the answer they will circle 'Y' for yes or the 'N' for no. Then they'll write the name of the person they asked the question below their answer on the line provided. After all students have completed the first part of the worksheet, get them back to their seats and have them do the next side.

Using the information gathered on the first page the students will write sentences in the spaces provided. I've added an example of what the sentences should look like. The aim is for the students to practice and know when to use the past tense of regular and irregular verbs.

Then using a picker wheel or a name chart (or asking the JTE what their favorite number is) pick students to stand up and read their sentences to the class. Or do what I did and pick one student, get them to read their sentence and then the next person to read is the one who the previous sentence was about.

And that's pretty much it. This worksheet can also be used for a wide variety of other grammars so feel free to do with it as you please. And have fun! ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )

Hmm, there's currently only one Word document attached to this activity, but it seems to be a working file. Is anyone having issues opening it?

I'm sorry, I'm just seeing your messages. I just downloaded the file and it's working fine but I'll be uploading a PDF version in hopes that will solve the problem.
